Out of Sight, Out of Mind.
Out of sight, out of mind is A sad look into a future that I hope never comes to fruition. Historically, we have leeched a lot of resources from our planet, with little to no concern about the damage that is being done to our home.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency, in 2018, humans produced a total of 292.4 million tons of waste, or about 4.9 pounds of waste per person per day. At this rate, along with concerns involving our climate, we are digging ourselves into a deeper hole that will severely shape the course of not only our future, but our children's.
It is up to us to be mindful moving forward about our carbon footprint and to practice good habits of managing our waste, as well as thinking of new ways to become more sustainable as a population. Our future surely depends on it.
